Sapumal Foundation

Located in the distinguished district of Cinnamon Gardens, the Sapumal Foundation is an art gallery with a glorious heritage. The Foundation was the brainchild of the late Harry Pieris, a prime member of the acclaimed 43 Group. The Sapumal Foundation is located in what once used to be his home. The Foundation is a great place to know more about the history of the country. Sampumal Foundation showcases 200 works that trace the country’s artistic developments and journey from the 1920s up till now.

Red Dot Gallery

The Red Dot Gallery is located in Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, a suburb known as the new capital of Sri Lanka. The gallery puts on display the most experimental art pieces in the country. Theertha International Artists Collective, an independent non-profit organisation, opened the doors to the gallery in 2007. This artist’s collective facilitates the exchange of ideas and encourages dialogue in the local arts community. The gallery displays the carefully curated work of contemporary artists working in the post-1990s Trend arena. It also hosts a wide range of group and solo exhibitions, as well as an ambitious international residency programme.
