With Valentine’s day in few days of course all you lovely folks must be excited to go out of the way to make your partner happy. Malls and stores can get a little overwhelming and it does become filled with gift ideas that would be either too expensive or too common. And yes, we do understand your need to do something different. Some of you all might be planning a romantic dinner or even a home cooked special meal but did you also think of getting away for the day or even the weekend to follow? 

Here are a couple of ideas!

Negombo

Not too far away from the city centre (approximately 38 km on Google) and a great city if you are looking for quick escape after work! You could even extend the date night by checking in to one of our properties that is budget friendly. If you are lucky enough to be entitled to the bank and public holiday on the 13th, spend the day with your partner at the hotel, head to the Negombo beach (do not forget sunscreen!) or look for options to book a couples massage. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it could be spontaneous and different to your otherwise everyday routine! 

Hikkaduwa

If you want to go an extra mile (literally!) this Valentine’s, a pre-V-day getaway to Yoho Narigama sounds just about right! What’s more, do let the hotel know that you are there to celebrate the special holiday and they would be more than happy to prepare it for you, which means you don’t need to go in search for a restaurant to have a nice quiet dinner for two. The hotel also has a pool should you want to have some fun outdoors. 

Tangalle

Yes, Tangalle might not be your first choice of getaway when compared to Galle, Unawatuna or even Weligama. But the deep south has a lot more to offer including the golden sandy beaches and the pristine blue waters. If you do have more than a day in your hands, do find yourself on a trip to Tangalle. Remember to start early so you have ample time to at the beach, to enjoy the food and to toast to the both of you. What’s more, Yoho Madilla Beach is ideal place as it is a cosy bungalow with an in-house restaurant that is happy to go out of their way to make it more romantic for the two of you. If you are looking for some thing adventurous to do, be sure to speak to the front office who will be glad to make arrangements for you.
